FIAT
The Fabbrica Italiana di Automobili Turin is said to have experimented with steam wagons sometime after its 1899 formation.
These did not enter production though rail locomotives and rolling stock certainly did.
FIDELIA
There was little to suggest that this 1905-6 automobile was steam driven and under the bonnet there was even a vertical four-cylinder motor with cone clutch linking it to the back axle by propeller shaft. Voitures Fidelia of Angers, France used a rear-mounted Serpollet-type boiler.
FINLAYSON
The Finlayson brothers ran an engineering works and foundry at Devonport, Tasmania, Australia. In 1900 they built a two-cylinder 6hp kerosene-fired steam car for their own use. It had chain drive and a top speed of 20mph, though water consumption was high due to the lack of a condenser.
The vehicle seated four people and continued in use for a few years though appears not to have resulted in any orders. After a while the engine was used to power machine tools and the remainder stored in a loft.
