THE SPECTACULAR vest design in this month’s supplement, created for us by Faïza Mebazaa, showcases one of the beautiful yarns from The Uncommon Thread’s range. This British artisan dye company, based in Brighton on England’s south coast, has fans all around the world, and is sold in yarn shops in a number of countries including the USA, Canada, South Korea, Japan, Iceland and France.

The Uncommon Thread was established in 2010 by Ce Persiano, a passionate knitter who was keen to create her own hand-dyed yarns. At the start, Ce worked in her home kitchen, but today she has her own studio and works with a team of artisan dyers to produce an exciting range of colourways. As well as a range of different wool yarns, Ce and her dyers work with luxury fibres such as cashmere, silk and alpaca, and also sell a range of knitting tools, books and fabrics through their
