Tasso Works tuning – teaching an old dog new tricks

Two-stroke tuning is my bread and butter. It’s something that I’ve been into ever since I read my first tuning book (by Graham Bell) when I was aged just 16. In a nerdy way, I loved the maths and physics behind it all, and the fact that you could use formulas to project power increases. Even as a spotty youth, I could make improvements to my 50cc cylinder with a hand file and some bigger jets. It was so intuitive to me; I loved it.

But when it came to four-stroke engines (in a two-wheel chassis) I just never felt that same passion. To me, four-strokes were inefficient, soulless, and somewhat limited in their appeal; even more so if they were an auto! They just
