THE FUTURE OF SCOOTERS?

It’s been a while since we last visited Berkshire-based Carnaby Scooters. Since then a lot’s changed, including the company branding. As he’s one of the UK’s most successful independent scooter and motorcycle retailers, we asked Richard for his views on the new scooter market’s current state and where he sees the future taking us...

SC: Firstly, congratulations on being proclaimed the world’s number one Royal Alloy dealership; that’s quite an accolade.

RC: It’s a great achievement by everyone associated with Carnaby, and it’s nice for that hard work to be recognised. However, the Chinese dealers are now really getting into the swing of things and their potential volumes are huge. I suspect it’s a title I won’t hold on to for long!

SC: The most obvious change since we last visited is the new branding and presence of motorcycles on the showroom floor. Why and when did that come about?
