Hundreds of endangered animals killed by British trophy hunters since Sunak promised ban

The government’s decision to drop the ban on imports of body parts from trophy hunts has cost the lives of hundreds of vulnerable and endangered animals, campaigners say.

Figures suggest at least 715 animals, ranging from elephants to bears and leopards, have been killed by wealthy British hunters since October 2019, when the Conservatives first promised a ban in the Queen’s speech.
