You can still call in the help of a midwife with a caesarean birth.

Midwives provide emotional support and talk you and your birth partner through the operation and birth. Sometimes, the whole process happens so fast, and it’s so overwhelming, that partners forget to take pics or provide proper support - it’s at this point that midwives take control and remind you how special these first moments really are.

ASK FOR THE LIGHTS TO BE DIMMED

Theatre lights are harsh, and you might find them intimidating. Check with your gynae before, and put it on your birth plan that you’d like the lights to be dimmed a bit. It will give the sterile theatre
