Storm Jocelyn shuts Dartford crossing sparking 'horrendous' traffic jams as UK hit by 97mph gusts

Storm Jocelyn is bringing fresh travel disruption to much of the UK with bridge closures causing "horrendous" traffic jams.

The 10th named storm of the season hit the country on Tuesday night, with a 97mph gust recorded in Capel Curig in Wales.

An amber warning for wind was in place in parts of Scotland on Wednesday morning with much of the UK covered by a yellow alert into the afternoon.

A search for a person reported to be in the sea at Porthcawl, south Wales, was suspended early on Wednesday.
