Goodbye, Guenther

Guenther Steiner has left his role as Haas team principal after almost a decade in charge, since overseeing the American-owned squad’s progression to F1 in 2016.

Long-time trackside engineering director Ayao Komatsu will step up to replace him, becoming the latest in a series of team principals to have worked their way up from an engineering position – Andrea Stella and James Vowles both took up team principal positions in 2023 at McLaren and Williams, following a similar trajectory.

Under Steiner’s watch, Haas achieved sensational.
