Historic triumph for Rosario Central

For many generations of Rosario Central’s supporters, this was their first major title. After a 36-year wait, the Canalla, “the Scoundrels”, won a top-flight title, the Copa de la Liga, defeating Platense1-0 in the final.

Central is a social and cultural phenomenon. “Rosario Central does not have history,” once wrote the late legendary cartoonist and famed Central supporter Roberto Fontanarrosa, “it has mythology.”
