Finding new tools for the shop is always a joy. You never know what could be the next game-changer. Of course, the cost investment can always put you on guard when you don’t know how useful a certain tool will actually be. That’s why I’ll be sharing a few tools here that have occupied my shop time as the winter cold has set in.

CIRCLE CUTTING JIG

The first tool on our list is a circle cutting router jig from , which you can see in the photos above and at left. The jig consists of a base and tailstock made of CNC-machined aluminum, along with a pair of ½"-dia. steel guide rods-style guide bushing fits into your router base while ½" or ¼" pivot pins keep the tailstock at the center of the workpiece.
