THEIR first breath, their first tooth, their first step, their first day of school . . . from the instant kids are born their parents are there, cameras at the ready to capture every adorable moment and share it on social media.

This trend of posting pics of children online is now so commonplace there’s even a name for it – sharenting, a combination of the words sharing and parenting.

But if French lawmakers have their way, this brand of oversharing will soon be a thing of the past.

The country’s parliament is considering implementing groundbreaking legislation that compels parents to think carefully before they post online.
