Your solo exhibition “Matrilineal” at 100 Tonson Foundation was one of three shows, along with Flowers Gallery and CHAT (Centre for Heritage, Arts & Textile) in Hong Kong, that opened in November. What is this exhibition built around?

This latest series builds on a work that I created for the Asia Pacific Triennial 9 at the Queensland Art Gallery, (2018). During that project, I pivoted towards focusing on my personal history, which coincided with my mother’s passing in 2016. The more recent tapestries are a homage to her and the women who were instrumental in raising me. In particular, I had one remaining aunt, my mother’s older sister, who was able to share
