Does Currys’ two-repairs policy override consumer law?

Q I’ve just bought a new TV from Currys and decided to pay for its ‘Care & Repair’ insurance service (www.snipca.com/48565). I think it’s good value and I like the seven-day repair promise, plus free pick-up and redelivery. However, I note that Currys says it can carry out two attempts at a repair. So my question is whether this supersedes the ‘one repair’ rule outlined by the Consumer Rights Act (CRA).

No, it can’t override the CRA, but it can work together with statutory law to(but not both). John wouldn’t have to prove there was an inherent fault – the onus would be on Currys to prove otherwise.
