Fruity berry crumble
You can’t beat this classic, and ours has a shortbread topping and jammy filling.

4 ripe pears, peeled, cut into chunks
700g frozen berries
3tbsp damson gin (or other liqueur)
3tbsp cornflour
4tbsp sugar
½tsp cinnamon
1tsp vanilla extract
Custard, ice cream or cream, to serve
For the crumble:
300g plain flour175g butter, grated75g golden caster sugar2tbsp demerara sugar
