Why women are now at more risk of lung cancer

Ready for some sobering stats? Lung cancer is the UK’s third most common cancer – around 48,500 people are diagnosed each year* and it causes nearly 35,000 deaths. It’s more common as you get older – nearly half of people diagnosed are 75 or over. And, until now, more men than women have been diagnosed. But Cancer Research UK says that’s about to change.
