THE CARDIFF TRICK PLAY THAT BEAT THE STORMERS

1 The Set-Up. Cardiff have a lineout 7m from Stormers’ line. Scrum-half Ellis Bevan and wing Mason Grady stand at the front. They appear a genuine bail-out option, ready to receive a quick throw-in. This forces Stormers to hold a defender and potential lifter at the front on the 5m line. Replacement No 8 Mackenzie Martin stands in the scrum-half position – indicating the likelihood of a driving maul. The Stormers stack the 5m channel.
