Just imagine the hot sun beating down from the cloudless Californian skies, the rolling shifting sands of the Baja desert… and then the remote, desolate silence is shattered by the impertinent prattle of an air-cooled VW engine as a Dune Buggy (or as we Brits like to call them a Beach Buggy) bounds over the dunes with ease, throwing rooster tail plumes of sand into the air while waving an inordinately long aerial in our faces for good measure.
