Some young volunteers (from Northern Ireland and Israel) were working at St Augustine’s Primary school. I was reflecting with them (and some South African young adults) on the similarities between their situations.
Whereas the North of Ireland and South Africa were now (relatively) peaceful, for the Israelis, fear was still present. Moreover, that in all three regions, religion had been used to weaponise the situation.
