HELLO, DOLLY!

HOW on Earth can anyone remember more than 400 children’s names?

It’s not as hard as it might seem – just ask Wendy Saunders.

Her “children” are the porcelain dolls she loves as dearly as if they were living and breathing, and each one has a name of its own lovingly bestowed upon it.

Wendy – or the doll lady of KwaZulu-Natal, as she’s known – keeps her “babies” in pride of place throughout her home and admits some people might think it’s all a bit much. Her daughter, Candice, for one. “She’ll probably ask you if you want 100 of them,” Wendy tells
