TRIPLE CROWN

BRITISH lightweight champion Gavin Gwynne completed what he called his “triple crown” of major belts with an eight-round retirement win over remarkable Italian veteran Emiliano Marsili at the York Hall that brought him the vacant European title.

Marsili, bidding to become the oldest to win European honours at the age of 47 years, three months and 21 days, was ruled out with a shoulder injury.
