With our lives becoming increasingly cluttered by constant screen time and digital exposure, travellers are opting to take more regular time away from work. Thanks to social media, remote work, and the increasing siloing of our lives, people are craving human connection and seeking it in their travel.

Today's travellers are also more aware of the impact travel has on the planet, and are becoming increasingly interested in the wellbeing of the people and places they visit. There is evidence of a strong desire for a sense of community.

What is Wellness Tourism

Wellness tourism is when you travel to specific destinations with the purpose of enhancing and maintaining personal health and wellbeing. Post-pandemic, media abounds with news of more people travelling, but people are wanting something different now, something new. Going to the shops, eating foreign food, staying in a nice place isn't enough anymore. So the opportunities for more alternative and complementary treatments are definitely growing,along with an interest in seeing practitioners from different modalities and creative pursuits such as acupuncture, reiki, structural integration, art or music therapies, and sound or indigenous types of healing.
