Why visit?
There’s a lot to see (and photograph) in South Australia’s Dhilba Guuranda-Innes National Park, whether you’re interested in history, geology, animal and plant life or just great scenery. Better still, you can find things to see, do and photograph all year round.
The park is a Mecca for surfers, who come to catch the ocean swells at Pondalowie Bay and Chinaman’s Hat surf breaks. It’s also home to Kangaroos, the once locally extinct Tammar Wallaby, Emus, Malleefowl, Pygmy Possums, Hooded Plovers and a growing population of Brush-tailed Bettong, Southern Brown Bandicoot, Red-tailed Phascogale and Western Quoll, which are being introduced through the innovative Marna Banggara project.
There are plans to increase the population of native Barn Owls, an important predator of mouse populations, which have multiplied with the introduction of no-till farming. Provision of nest boxes has gained wide support
