When Carolyn’s son died she was determined to help others

With his head in his hands, my lovely son was in pieces.

Tom was just 15. A tall, popular sporty larrikin, usually full of smiles, he was heartbroken.

One of his friends, Jo* had died by suicide.

‘There’s nothing you could have done,’ I told him.

Living between my house and his dad Mark’s, and despite some initial counselling at school, my sensitive boy was suffering with bad anxiety.

I cast my mind back to when I’d tuck Tom into bed as a little boy.
