Getting ready for El Niño: Part 1

A decade ago, few had an idea of what El Niño meant. Now, after a few good La Niña rainfall years, graphs show we could be on the eve of a new, intense El Niño cycle, with the threat of another severe drought in the western and northern parts of the country and floods in the east.

Thus it would be wise to look at what happened during the previous El Niño event, share what lessons were learnt and what can be done to see us through a new drought.
