In 2022, South Africa exported US$12,8 (about R240 billion) worth of agricultural products, accounting for roughly 52% of our agricultural GDP. Our domestic market is equally important for several commodities, but its growth is largely dependent on the purchasing power of the South African consumer. Whilst we all hope and work towards achieving more robust economic growth, the prospects remain subdued at present.
