A catastrophe looms unless we “restore and safeguard the water cycle”, says Arunabha Ghosh. Less rainfall across large parts of south and southeast Asia have reduced crop yields, while on the other side of the world, the Amazon has fallen to its lowest level in more than a century. But at least water is finding its way onto the global agenda. It will be discussed at this month’s UN Climate Change Conference and the Global Commission on
