Filthy delights at Wansford as lost Boston shunters ‘revived’

PHOTOGRAPHIC charters often present unique opportunities to recreate lost scenes, and on October 30 the Nene Valley RailwayWagon Group once again pulled out the stops for its final event of the year – using not only visiting Hunlset Austerity 0-6-0ST No. 3193 Norfolk Regiment, but also the railway's own out-of-service classmateWD75006 as the volunteers set out to recreate Lincolnshire's Boston Docks.

Both Nos. 3193 (on loan from the Northampton & Lamport Railway until January 2024) and 75006 were renumbered as Nos. 68018 and 68070 respectively for the occassion, which were two of a fleet of shunting locomotives allocated to Boston's shedcode 40F.
