SOUTHERN Railway ‘Booster’ 1470hp Co-Co electric locomotives in ‘OO’ gauge are the surprise of Bachmann’s winter announcement. Designed by Raworth in the late 1930s and encouraged by Bulleid, the locomotives were known for a booster flywheel device which helped the locomotive to cross long gaps in the conductor rail.
