1985 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am, 2018 Chevrolet Sonic

As much as we love them, cars can sometimes really test our patience. In 2023, that’s certainly been the case with my own fleet. Last time I did a story for these pages, my beloved 1985 Trans Am had been ravaged by mice – leaving behind a trail of destruction. A car cover riddled with holes, some attempt at chewing wiring and plug leads, plus under-hood insulation, upholstery (the driver’s seat cushion), as well as making nests in the air box assembly, in the spare tyre well and also in the headliner.
