of thumb here: The specificity of a gift should correlate directly with your knowledge of the recipient’s wants or needs. So if you purchase a landmine for someone—and I’m assuming this is a platonic someone and not a romantic someone, in which case: try again—you want Otherwise you can expect … uh … confusion?
