have travelled extensively throughout Africa and enjoyed some incredible places in supreme locations with truly wonderful experiences. Today I feel it is important to seek value for money, somewhere without high-end opulence but still providing an excellent experience. Basecamp Masai Mara is one place I can recommend. Here I have enjoyed some wonderful game drives and stayed in comfortable tented accommodation overlooking the Talek River, with views beyond into the Mara Reserve. They have direct access into the reserve via a beautiful cable/rope bridge — no need for lengthy queues at the gates, saving precious time. It is very convenient.
