SHORE ANGLER PART TWO

When the Society was formed in 1973 the following aims were agreed, “The aims of this Society shall be to develop and improve the interest and techniques of angling for bass, and to encourage conservation and research of the species throughout the British Isles.” These were well-written and are more-or-less relevant to this day; the first half covering the ‘club’ side, the second covering work on conservation and our own research in support of it. The only change has been a move away from ‘conservation’ (conserving current stocks) to ‘restoration’ (getting bass stocks raised to their former levels, with effective management).
