For a tiny and seemingly innocuous piece of home security tech, video doorbells have made headlines a lot. First came the stories of cases cracked and criminals caught thanks to their filmed footage; then the claims of hackers’ voices floating eerily out of devices. Most recently, of course, was the claim that a doorbell played the starring role in the break-up of actor Sophie Turner and musician Joe Jonas.
