Whether you’re taking on a restoration project, or have just bought an imported Bus, chances are extremely high that there will be some rust in the battery tray.
It doesn’t matter how well a Bus has been cared for, or what climate it is said to have lived in, the battery tray is always prone to rot, primarily due to leaking battery acid eating its way through the metal from above.
Not only this, the lower rear corners are a mud and moisture trap, further accelerating corrosion.
Localised repairs are possible if the rust is confined but, as the battery tray contains various pressings, obtaining a factory looking
