'Not my babies'

TRUE-LIFE

The sun shone brightly in the blue winter sky as I ended the call on my phone.

It was 2014 and I’d been talking to my husband Mario, who was away, working.

As we hung up, I had just one thought on my mind…

I want a divorce.

And actually, I couldn’t believe I’d left it this long.

I’d just moved to Barcelona in 2005 when I met Mario, a doctor, at a bar.

We married in July 2007 and our son Cesar arrived two years later.

I loved being a mum, but Mario wasn’t interested in nappy changes or peekaboo.
