ME AND MY 'VAN
2009 Renault Master Minibus LWB self-conversion. Our beloved campervan is nicknamed the Holiday Bus by our young children. We have a rear dinette that converts to a king-size bed, with overhead folding bunk beds, a compact washroom, kitchen and four driving seats
I'm not known for my spontaneity. And that applies to our family getaways in our campervan, too. When a trip is in the offing, I can usually be found at the computer researching and planning a meticulous itinerary. Unsurprisingly, I am known amongst the family as their personal tour guide. I love nothing better than having numerous tabs and maps open online, with a notepad and pen beside me, blissfully researching and booking our next holiday.
But this all changed last Christmas. Due to a number of unforeseen circumstances, we found ourselves unexpectedly with a Christmas and New Year period completely free of family engagements and we didn't fancy sitting at home twiddling our thumbs.
It all started on Boxing Day when I was scrolling on my phone through a vanlife Facebook page looking and, within a few hours, we were ready to set off.
