TOYOTA LANDCRUISER PRADO FROM $62,830

Toyota’s Landcruiser Prado is due for replacement by an all-new model in mid-2024, with a wagon that’s closer in size to the 300 Series LandCruiser and is powered by a mild-hybrid version of this current model’s 2.8-litre turbodiesel, matched with an eight-speed automatic. Significant prices rises may well make this 2023 Prado look like a bargain in hindsight.

HOW MUCH?

LandCruiser Prado wagons with the 2.8-litre turbodiesel start with the GX six-speed automatic at $62,830. GXL is $69,530, VX is $76,848 and Kakadu is $87,468.

Two extra rear seats add $2550 to the price of the GX.

NUTS AND BOLTS

• The Prado is made in Japan.

• The GX wagon is a five-seater model. Other wagons are seven-seaters.

• The 2.8-litre four-cylinder turbodiesel produces 150kW at 3400rpm.
