Cage & Aviary Birds

Floating up to Scotland

BUDGERIGARS

FOR 2023, I had accepted two judging engagements, one in Scotland and one in England. First was the Scottish Budgerigar Society area show, and then came Ollerton & Bevercotes. At both of these events I would be judging with my friends and fellow Trent Valley Budgerigar Society members Geoff Bowley and John Lees. At the SBS area show, Laura O’Reilly was also judging with us.

Because of the distance we would be travelling tovisiting Frank, Carol and Joe McGovern (the current world champions) in Liverpool. We arrived at the McGovern household at lunchtime on the Friday, and had a look in their main birdroom, which has outside flights. There was a great selection of young birds to view. I would say that this was the best team of young birds I have seen. No wonder they took best in show at the Budgerigar Society World Championship Show with a young bird.

Jed Savage: Aviary Features
