Daily multivitamins

Two recent trials suggest daily multivitamin supplements are beneficial for cognition. Firstly, among 3,500 older adults randomly assigned to vitamin supplements or placebo, episodic memory (tested by ability to learn and recall lists of unrelated words) was better after one year and three years in those taking supplements. The second trial assessed the effect of both multivitamins and flavanol supplements; multivitamins improved global cognition, episodic memory and executive function, while flavanol supplement were without effect.
