WHO LIVES HERE? I'm Claire Champion, 47, a university administrator, and I live here with my husband John, 56, a business consultant. Our home is an extended three-bedroom 1950s dormer bungalow in Chester, Cheshire, which John bought in June 2013. I share my decorating ideas on Instagram @charnwoodtowers.
WHAT WAS UPDATED? We gave the glossy kitchen cabinets an update, added panelling and a wallpaper feature wall.
WHY THE CHANGE? We wanted to add personality and colour without investing in a whole new kitchen.
The original building work and kitchen install took a month, and then this makeover took about six weeks during the weekends and evenings.
