I HAVE been thinking what I can give the readers of by way of a Christmas-box; and have determined to publish some information which, at this time of the year, is likely to be useful. Some of my Oxford readers will remember old Cicero Cook, the College scout, who presided over the affairs of Fells buildings, at Christ Church. The old man was famous for brewing all sorts of good things, and especially Christmas drinks. I believe he is dead; but he has left us many of his treasured receipts, which he was persuaded to publish, under the literary direction of one or two
