Pair of 3mm (No 11) knitting needles; washable toy stuffing; optional short length of black ribbon for tie with matching sewing thread and needle. Yarn is available from theknittingnetwork.co.uk

ABBREVIATIONS

ss 2 rows A and 2 rows B, as many times as stated; knit; through back of sts (to decrease 1 st); purl; slip 1 st, k 1 st, pass slipped st over knitted st (to decrease 1 st); stocking st (k on right side and p on wrong side); stitch(es); together (decrease, by working as many sts together as stated); slip next st on to right-hand needle, take yarn between needles to pick up loop lying between needles and work into the back of it (to increase 1 st)
