More than 700 islands, islets and outcrops make up the Caribbean, but hopping between them isn’t simple. Inter-island flights can be expensive, unreliable and indirect, with airlines routing services through hubs; InterCaribbean uses Turks and Caicos, Caribbean Airlines uses Trinidad.
