BMW R18 Roctane

The R18 hasn’t exactly been overhauled for 2023. But there are a few key changes to make it stand out from the other machines in the ever-growing range, including some bigger wheels (which we’ve been told makes it ‘the best handling R18 yet’); a tweaked frame; some ‘Mini-Ape’ handlebars; a redesigned headlight and speedo; and some funky integrated panniers. To really get to know the Bavarian beast, BMW’s had us over to the motherland for an epic trip from Munich to the Austrian border (and back again), taking in Lake Ammersee and the Auberg mountains. Here’s how we got on.
