Commentary: Acapulco will struggle to recover from Hurricane Otis thanks to Mexico’s populist president

I treasure beautiful childhood memories from my family’s modest but happy vacations in Acapulco, Mexico. On board a boat cruise, we loved learning about Hollywood stars who visited the golden sands and warm waters of what was once a fashionable beach resort. Sadly, the Acapulco I remember was battered by a powerful Category 5 storm in the early hours of Oct. 25.
