Jokwa was a wise empress, but she had a fierce enemy: Kokai. He was also a giant, with magic powers that allowed him to control the seas and rivers. He tried to take Jokwa's throne, but she defeated him.
Kokai was a sore loser! He summoned a great flood that destroyed China's crops and washed away people's homes, leaving them cold, hungry and without shelter.
Jokwa was furious!
“How dare that wicked giant harm my people!” she thundered. “This means WAR!”
Jokwa called for her soldiers. She had two commanders who were equally brave, fierce and clever. Their names were Hako and Eiko, and they were good friends.
“Hako shall lead my army against Kokai!” declared the empress.
