THE medical people have given their approval for my wife Muriel to fly to Malta and the insurance company have been informed of the accident resulting in the broken arm. So it's all systems go for the judging engagement at the all-Gloster show there.

I'm looking forward to it. It's about three years since I saw my old pal Pino Trovato, so we've some catching up to do as well as the important job of judging some pretty special Glosters. So I thought it might be worth explaining the process for judging at a specialist show when the classes can contain large numbers of exhibitors.

There has to be a method that is thorough and proven. Unfortunately, in my time I've seen some real calamities, but I'll come to that later.
