SCIENCE NERD TURNED LINGERIE DESIGNER

As a child, it seemed that Maddie Kulig’s future would lie in a very different career than designing lingerie. Though she kept up with the fashion trends of the time, she took both organic chemistry and calculus in high school and was a self-confessed science geek. A seismic event in her life caused a shift in priorities, however: the death of her mother after a battle with cancer meant Maddie’s vision for the future changed completely.

She enrolled onto a fashion design course at the Savannah College of Art and Design, then transferred a year later to Johnson & Wales in North Miami to study fashion merchandising and retail marketing. The course required a work
