Sharing the great outdoors with friends and family is special for hunters, anglers, and trappers. The seed is often planted early and becomes a defining factor in life. Clint Taylor is one of those die-hard outdoorsmen who can rise to the occasion for anything outdoors. Clint’s mom and dad farmed, gardened, foraged, hunted, and fished, and Clint was included from the day he could walk. It is inspirational to hear the stories of Clint’s upbringing and how his mom encouraged him to be successful.
Clint was given a .410 shotgun at an early age, and shotshells were distributed one at a time. Mom would offer a dime for anything Clint could bring home to eat, and it was not unusual to have a fattened mallard flung over his shoulder when walking home. Mom would then offer another dime if the bird could be made into a meal. Before he could shave, Clint could clean and cook birds, fillet fish, skin muskrats, and other things brought home.
