A new study conducted by the University of Göttingen in Germany highlights the effects of oil palm plantations on greenhouse gas emissions.
The research paper, titled, shows that “oil palms’ photosynthesis and their response to meteorological and soil conditions play an important but still widely unexplored role in the amount of nitrous oxide produced by oil palm plantations”.
